Unexpected Challenges During Vacation
đź’¬ Someone recently shared this story with us about the Opal luxury resort experience.
🧳 She got her period on the first day of vacation. Unfortunately, there were no products in the bathroom. The gift shop also had nothing available.
So she went to the front desk. After about 10 minutes, she received a doggie bag full of cardboard tampons.
Her words?
“It felt like a secret drug deal… for a tampon.”
The Overlooked Reality of Period Care
Even at luxury resorts, period care is still:
⚠️ An afterthought
👎 Low-quality
â›” Hidden behind awkward workarounds
At UNICORN, we believe period care should be where it belongs:
âś… In the stall
âś… High-quality products
âś… Ready when you need it
The Need for Change in Period Care
Too often, women's health needs are overlooked. This story highlights a greater issue. The challenge isn’t just about having products available; it’s about providing quality care when it matters most.
Imagine how it feels to be caught off guard. You plan a luxury getaway, only to face this kind of situation. It can put a damper on your entire experience.

Commitment to Improving Guest Experience
The hospitality industry must do better. We understand that guests expect high standards of care at luxury resorts. That should include thoughtful attention to all aspects of health and wellness.
Opal Collection — if you’re ever ready to reimagine the guest experience, we’re here for you. 🫶
Final Thoughts
As travelers, our comfort should always be top of mind. Resorts need to reevaluate how they provide care for all guests, particularly for those facing the natural challenges that come with menstruation.
Together, we can ensure that luxury experiences also offer better solutions for period care. Let's advocate for better resources and visibility. Change can start here.
